Feb. 11th

This week has been very interesting working with the technology affordances. I chose powerpoint vs. posters/transparencies because those were the things I was most familiar with. I was very interested in reading about the computer tutorials and the wiki pages. I feel like I am learning a little from this class, but maybe not doing the right things to get the most out of it. I have had a lot of trouble navigating through blackboard I feel like I am constantly clicking and redirecting myself trying to keep up with what is going on. I also get confused about the assignements. I think I have been doing ok to get them done, but I feel like I could be doing a lot better, and getting a lot more from this class I just don't know how to do that. I also feel like this class would be much more beneficial for me if I were actually in a school. Right now I am working with babies and we don't have much access to technology so it is hard for me to relate to many of the assignments.

First Group Assignment

I am feeling bad about this first group assignment. I work at a child development center so we do not have as much technology as most schools do. Our older students have computer class where they get to work on lap top computers, but other than that our school does not include very much technology especially in my room. We have just a cd player and some toys in our room that are technology. Some of the classes get to watch 30 minutes of TV once a week, and our administration has computers they use. I also was out all last week with walking pnemonia, so I didn't really get a chance to find out if there was more technology used than that I am already aware of. I can already tell this class is going to be beneficial for me to learn all sorts of new technologies. I also think that I am going to learn a lot about using these technologies. I am pretty good with using technology, but I know I have a long way to go. I was able to complete the first assignment without too many problems, other than not being able to add that much to the discussion. I hope I am being beneficial to my group.

Day 1

I have enjoyed learning how to create a blog. I thought it would be much more difficult to create a blog than it actually was. I am looking forward to blogging in the future. I believe this will be a fun way to communicate with others, and have others communicate with me.
